Prismism Series

These paintings represent a short-lived transition in my painting style on my way to abstraction from the representational work I had studied in school and continued for several years thereafter. It was a fun exploration of breaking up pictorial space in still lifes and a landscape and finally culminated in three musician paintings. These were based on a few of the dozens of sketches of musicians I drew on bar napkins while out listening to some of the wealth of live music that Austin has to offer.
