Texas WAX Austin Artists First Exhibit at Bay6 Gallery and Studios

What a great opening! So many people showed up, and once again, Sharon had some of my work very prominently displayed, for which I feel deeply honored! The yellow poppy paintings on the front wall are mine.

I have 3 art events coming right up:

Fused Expressions

The ancient art of encaustic painting with pigment in melted beeswax takes on modern form with works created by over 20 members of the Austin and San Antonio TexasWax Association of Encaustic Artists. Please join us for the opening reception on Saturday, November 1st from 7-10pm. Food and drinks will be served, and we will have live music at 9:00pm by mediums.

Come and see the beauty of encaustic painting! I will have 4-5 paintings in this show, and the work from all the artists is quite varied and beautiful.

Want to find out more about encaustic painting? There will be an artist talk from 7 - 8 pm on Thursday, November 6th, entitled "What is encaustic?" -- also at the Bay6 Gallery and Studios.

The exhibit closes Nov. 15.

ABIA AVAA Exhibit

One of my latest paintings is on display at the Austin Bergstrom Airport in the East Gallery with the Austin Visual Arts Association exhibit. Through January 27, 2009 February 3, 2009.

I will be opening my home studio again this year for the East Austin Studio Tour 2008 from 10am - 5pm on November 22-23, 2008.

The first of three art shows I will be participating in this fall begins this Friday! A year in the works, I am one of 5 Austin painters who will be showing at the Fort Worth Community Art Center for the month of October. This is a great space, located in one of the large galleries in the building that was formerly the Fort Worth Contemporary Art Museum, on museum row just down the street from the Kimbell Art Museum.
