Fourth (and last, so far) in This Series

Untitled (2015-008) - Oil on panel - 12" x 10" - © 2015 Marilyn Fenn I do love this painting, and I have enjoyed creating this series. After these first four, however, my interests took a turn, which you will see in the coming days (if you stay tuned).

And Another New Painting

Untitled (2015-007) - Oil on panel - 12" x 10" - © 2015 Marilyn Fenn I may—or may not—work on this one some more, but I haven't yet (and it's been about 3 months), so this may be done.

Another New Painting in the First Series of the Year

First of a New Series (in a Series of New Series)

Untitled 2015-005 - Oil on birch panel - 12" x 10" - © 2015 Marilyn Fenn Here is one of my first paintings of this year. Doing a lot of experimenting--trying different things.

A Fun Experimental Painting

“Mostly-Daily Painting 2014-011″ Oil over acrylic on Masonite panel 10″ x 8” © 2014 Marilyn Fenn

In between working on my series of color minis and larger works, I’m repainting some old failed works. This was one of my early experiments in acrylic, but is now more delightfully covered in…

Start of a New Series: “Fragments”

"Fragments 001" | Oil on canvas | 5" x 7" | © 2013 Marilyn Fenn - This year (so far), I am experimenting with lots of ways of finding images and lots of ways of painting them. This is the first of my "Fragments" series -- favorite snippets from larger works repainted on smaller canvases.

New Painting: “Comin’ Through!”

For today’s FirstFridayArtWalk over on Google+, here is the first oil painting I’ve completed this year that I’m happy with.  🙂

It’s also my first attempt to interpret my recent watercolor mini-painting series into an oil painting, and I’ve pushed myself in several other ways with this…

Progress Photos from the Painting “The Cosmos Made Conscious”

“The Cosmos Made Conscious” | Oil on canvas | 24″ x 30″ | © 2012 Marilyn Fenn -- This painting started as an attempt to capture the beauty of a passion flower, and ended up as something completely different. I started it in acrylic, too, as my previous work had come out quite well using acrylics, but for this work, the acrylics were just driving me crazy, so I quickly switched to oils.

How to Destroy (and Recover) a Painting in 10 (or so) Not-So-Easy Steps

“Mollycoddling the Collywobbles” | Oil on canvas | 18″ x 18″ | © 2012 Marilyn Fenn - This painting started out very differently than it ended up. In a month full of daily interruptions (far more then the usual tolerable level of daily interruptions), I had a hard time keeping the same frame of mind while I worked sporadically on this canvas.

New Painting: Squeeee!

Squeeee! | Oil on canvas | 24" x 36" | © 2012 Marilyn Fenn - I was working on this painting when my husband broke his leg (badly!).  Even before his accident, this painting was giving me fits.  I am finally done with it and quite happy.
