I have completed two new tornado paintings; one was the one I started a few weeks ago while being interviewed for a Weather Channel segment about my tornado paintings.  It’s changed a lot since it was filmed in progress (final version above; first version below).

I really like both versions, though now the first version is available only as a Gicleé print.  I love the abstract qualities that appeared in both of these images.

The second physical painting, and third new tornado image:

I think this painting makes the tornado seem more lyrical than menacing, lightly dancing across the landscape.

Both paintings are available to purchase; check the Tornadoes Gallery on this site for more information.

I think your Tornado art is amazing. I as well have a fascination with tornado's. I think they are breathtaking but fearful at same time. And yet i think that is what makes them so beautiful. I was wondering if you sell your art?

  • Marilyn says:

Thanks so much, Brianna! You are right — tornadoes are both frightening and gorgeous — fear and beauty — a compelling combination!

Do you mind if I ask how you found out about my tornado paintings?

And finally, yes, I do sell my work! I have added Paypal links to all the tornado paintings on my little sales blog, here:… — I am in the process of adding links on this site, as well.

Thanks so much for your comments. Let me know if you have any further questions about my paintings. Cheers!

I love your tornado paintings. You have captured the essence and wonder of tornadoes that makes us all stop and watch in awe. Thanks to the Weather Channel for featuring your awesome work.

  • Jueri Svjagintsev says:

Love the tornado painting, and I love the encuastic. Wax and wind.

If I create from the heart, nearly everything works; if from the head, almost nothing.

Comments on My Paintings
  • It’s always fun to read others’ comments. Where one sees draped fabric, to me, it’s a landscape with a wild and crazy storm in the sky bringing blessed rain.
