My twenty-fifth sketch in this series!  Two layers of web in this one, plus a ribbon with balls.  I love the colors!

For one half of a life you work, spurred on by this expectation [for recognition]. During the second half you work to prove to yourself you can do without it, that the loss of the illusion has made no difference. Then gradually you forget altogether. You work in order to be able to die painting.

  • I love the way you dealt with paint in this one. For some reason, my eye gets attracted to this thing in the left bottom corner, as though it is the figure of the artist who wonders at her painting…It is interfering, in a sense. But it is also essential; it adds something like an intrigue to the piece.
