Last week, I resumed working on my Not-So-Daily Paintings/Drawings series, and also the work inspired by the sculptures of Lee Bontecou.  Here’s the first one from last week.  I’ll be posting more for the next several days.  If you’re intrigued and want to see the rest, you can view them on my art site on the Works on Paper page.

They are also available for sale in my shop on the Current Abstractions page and the Abstractions 2011-2012 page.

There are moments on most days when I feel a deep and sincere gratitude, when I sit at the open window and there is a blue sky or moving clouds.

  • What interests me most about this presentation is the way the composition is broken up. The big fragmented subject contrasted against open ground, the almost dripping cracks, strangely dimensional shapes growing from the edges. I feel like I’m looking at some strange organism coming to eat me.
