Progress Photos from the Painting “The Cosmos Made Conscious”

“The Cosmos Made Conscious” | Oil on canvas | 24″ x 30″ | © 2012 Marilyn Fenn -- This painting started as an attempt to capture the beauty of a passion flower, and ended up as something completely different. I started it in acrylic, too, as my previous work had come out quite well using acrylics, but for this work, the acrylics were just driving me crazy, so I quickly switched to oils.

Progress Photos from the Painting “Food Forest”

"Food Forest" | Acrylic on canvas | 24" x 30" | © 2012 Marilyn Fenn -- Several people have told me how much they like seeing progress photos of paintings. Soooooo, I thought I'd share with you all some of my progress shots from recent works, starting with "Food Forest."

The Minimalists are idealist. They want to minimise themselves in favour of the ideal. But I just can’t. You see, my paintings are not cool. … I’m very careful not to have ideas, because they’re inaccurate.
