Another New Painting: “Uplift”

It may be hard to believe, but this little painting took about a week. It started out vertical, with less stuff, but even goofier than this, and it just took that long to resolve the composition to my liking.

Once I got it to this point, I was thrilled, and thought, “Oh, this is it! This will be my new signature style!”

Tune in tomorrow to see whether I was right or not. 😉

I don’t want to have anything to say, it just gets in the way. I think the journey of an artist is a journey of discovery and some engagements with paint, with the nature of material, with bodily things…One wants to open the story, not close it.

  • I love the way you dealt with paint in this one. For some reason, my eye gets attracted to this thing in the left bottom corner, as though it is the figure of the artist who wonders at her painting…It is interfering, in a sense. But it is also essential; it adds something like an intrigue to the piece.
