This one is very highly textured, and looks really amazing in person.

As promised, here are 6 of my new encaustic paintings — 5 of these were begun at last weekend’s encaustic workshop at Majestic Ranch.  I completed them and created one new painting (so far)  after returning home.

This one is rather minimal, but I love it!  It could be part of a diptych with the preceding or succeeding piece.

I’ve got 3 more in progress and will post them as soon as they are completed.

I have also come to the conclusion that the square is a human invention, which makes it sympathetic to me. Because you don’t see it in nature. As we do not see squares in nature, I thought that it is man-made. But I have corrected myself. Because squares exist in salt crystals, our daily salt. We know this because we can see it in the microscope

  • When I look at this painting I think of things either on an incredibly zoomed out level or on one very close as through a microscope.
